ROCKWELL INTEGRATED SCIENCES CENTER

Our department is housed in the Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center, which opened in fall, 2019. The Rockwell Center is a state-of-the-art building with LEED Platinum certification, “the highest recognition awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable, energy-efficient design and construction”. Teaching facilities

Classroom

There are eight teaching classrooms that can accommodate between 32 and 80 students.

Teaching laboratory

Biology has eight teaching laboratories in RISC, designed to accommodate 20 students each.

Research spaces

Faculty and student research laboratory

Each faculty member has a dedicated, fully-equipped, research space that can accommodate up to eight students.

Shared spaces include two state-of-the-art greenhouses, a microscopy suite, and a molecular biology suite, among others.

The Biology department is equipped with modern instrumentation that allows faculty and students to conduct advanced research.

Confocal and scanning electron microscopes and PCR/qPCR machines are only a few of the instruments available in the department.
